Treatment

The reasons why an individual would seek a therapeutic treatment will vary significantly. For the most part, we are driven to perform our best in many areas of life that include work, school, home, and with friends. When a mental health challenge begins to impede our ability to work within these systems, it can be helpful to work with a trained professional to find strategies and support.

At the Westcoast Child Development Group, our clinicians have all had clinically-approved training in providing therapeutic support to a variety of clients.

Some of the commonly seen challenges in our practice include:

  • ADHD
  • Depression
  • Generalized Anxiety
  • Panic Attacks
  • Obsessive-Compulsive
  • Social Anxiety
  • Oppositional Behaviours
  • School Refusal
  • Transition Issues (e.g., from high school to post-secondary)
  • Social Skills
  • Relationship Issues
  • Divorce/Separation Issues

Individual Treatment

Clinicians at the Westcoast Child Development Group adopt a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy model that centres on short-term, goal-driven therapies. Each therapeutic contract is outlined with the client and is repeatedly updated over the course of treatment. Treatment programs are currently being offered for a number of issues that include: depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, AD/HD, school, and family concerns. Therapeutic sessions are 50 minutes in length.
