Dr. David Worling, R. Psych.
  Registered Psychologist, Clinical Director
   
  Dr. Worling has worked for several years in a hospital outpatient psychiatric setting and in private practice in Vancouver. Dr. Worling holds academic affiliations with the departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at the UBC, and with the Psychology Clinic at SFU. He has over 15 years experience running groups with a number of different child/adolescent populations that have included those with severe learning disabilities and youth with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. In addition, Dr. Worling spent 6 years working at a Children’s Mental Health Centre in Ontario as a therapist and co-director of their residential treatment camp for children and adolescents with severe social and emotional difficulties

Shari A. Linde, M.Sc. SLP ( C )
Speech and Language Pathologist
 
Shari received her Master of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario, Department of Communication Disorders, in September, 1994. She is certified as a speech-language pathologist with both the British Columbia and the Canadian Associations of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Shari is recognized as a Clinical Educator with the University of British Columbia.

Shari’s primary areas of clinical expertise include communication impairments resulting from: autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, psychiatric disorders, or neurological damage. She has had extensive training and experience with pediatrics and with adults.

 

 

Jodi Yager, M.A.
Psychometrist
 
Jodi is a psychometrist at the Westcoast Child Development Group. She completed a B.Sc. in Biopsychology at the University of British Columbia and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Waterloo. Currently, she is also working towards a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology at Simon Fraser University. Her research and clinical interests are focused on the assessment of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
 
 
Leah Marks, E.C.E.
 
Leah Marks is the clinical coordinator at Westcoast Child Development Group. She has worked with children with special needs as an Early Childhood Interventionist for 15 years in both clinical and teaching capacities. She has developed and instructed curriculum for college level Early Childhood Education courses and supported post secondary students in their work with young children. She has considerable experience with preschool populations that have social and emotional difficulties and has worked closely with families to support them in their care and play with their children.
 
 
Christopher Gibbins, PhD, RPsych.
 

Dr. Christopher Gibbins works in private practice as well as on contract with BC’s Frasier and Northern Health Authority assessment networks, focusing on the diagnostic assessment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays. Dr. Gibbins has a particular interest in the assessment of preschool aged children for early intervention as well as giftedness in young children.


Dr. Gibbins also works as a psychologist and research fellow at the ADHD Clinic and the Infant Psychiatry Clinic at BC’s Children’s Hospital. He is currently involved in running the Vancouver branch of a CIHR funded multisite study of working memory and inattention in children with ADHD. Dr. Gibbins completed his PhD at Queen’s University with a focus on behavioural disorders in young children.

 
 
Anne Marie Roberts, M.Sc. S-LP (C)
Speech and Language Pathologist
 

Anne Marie received her Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, School of Audiology and Speech Sciences and is a certified speech-language pathologist with the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA). She is also a member of the British Columbia Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA) and the Manitoba Speech and Hearing Association (MSHA).

Anne Marie’s areas of special interest include assessment and treatment of: autism spectrum disorders, with a focus on social cognitive skills, neurological damage, developmental language disorders, and oral motor planning disorders. Anne Marie has experience working with pre-school and school-aged children in addition to young adult populations.

 
 
Kimberley Da Silva, Ph.D.
Psychologist
 
Dr. Da Silva completed her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University where she researched aggressive behaviour in youth, with a particular interest in aggressive girls. Her clinical work has been more varied, and includes work with adolescents with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties, group therapy with anxious children, and play therapy. Dr. Da Silva completed her pre-doctoral internship at BC Children’s Hospital, where she trained in the diagnostic assessment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays.
 
 
Patricia Lyon, Office Manager
 
Patricia has been our office manager since 2004. She brings with her 15 years of experience dealing with large and small businesses. She takes pride in her organizational and communication skills and her ability to interact with children as well as adults. Patricia also works part-time in the downtown east side with recovering addicts of all descriptions. In her spare time she enjoys long walks, playing cards and getting together with family members.
